Do you have a blender sitting around, bored, just waiting to be needed? It’s time to pull it out and blend up this easy Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie!

It takes mere minutes to blend up this tasty drink, made with fresh or frozen berries, milk, Greek yogurt, and a little bit of honey.

The recipe makes enough for two, so feel free to share, or split the recipe in half to make just a single serving.

Looking for more ways to put that blender to good use? Be sure to try my Berry Breakfast Smoothie – it incorporates oats to make it even more filling.

Or, if you’re looking for a healthy green smoothie, try my Spinach Smoothie or Kiwi Smoothie recipes.

Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie Recipe Highlights

  1. Simple Preparation – This smoothie takes just a few minutes to make in your blender.
  2. Fresh Flavors – Smoothie recipes can get wild, but this one is very straightforward. Simple ingredients like yogurt and honey allow the fresh flavors of the berries to really shine through.
  3. Nutrient-Packed – Berries are high in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, plus natural sugars to help you power through your day.

Ingredients In The Best Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie

Here’s what you need to make this healthy and delicious drink:

frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, cinnamon, milk, and greek yogurt, all in separate measuring cups, on a marble counter.

Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

  • Strawberries: One cup of strawberries, either fresh or frozen.
  • Blueberries: A half cup of blueberries. Again, you can use fresh berries if you have them, but frozen ones work just as well.
  • Milk: Whatever type of milk you have in the fridge will be perfect for this recipe! Cow’s milk, almond milk, or oat milk are all great options.
  • Greek Yogurt: Any type of thick yogurt can be used to make smoothies. I like to use protein-packed whole milk or low fat plain (unsweetened) Greek yogurt.
  • Cinnamon: I love this warm spice in sweet treats like breakfast smoothies. Cinnamon makes this recipe special.
  • Honey: I use a bit of honey to make my smoothie perfectly sweet! The actual amount of honey you’ll need can vary based on the sweetness of your berries, so adjust this ingredient to taste. Instead of honey, feel free to use maple syrup, agave nectar, or dates.

How To Make A Strawberry and Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients for a strawberry blueberry smoothie with cinnamon and yogurt in a blender, viewed from above.
1. Fill the Blender: Add your strawberries, blueberries, milk, yogurt, and cinnamon to the pitcher of your blender.

2. Blend! Turn on the blender and blend until the smoothie is smooth and creamy. Taste it. If it needs sweetness, add up to 2 teaspoons of honey and blend again.

Tip!

I suggest waiting to add the honey until the end. Sometimes, your berries will be sweet enough on their own and won’t need the extra sugar.

Recipe Tips

  • Add Other Fruit: A half (or whole) banana will make this smoothie thick, creamy, and extra sweet. You can also replace the strawberries or blueberries with blackberries or raspberries.
  • Need more protein? Turn this smoothie into a more filling protein drink! Mix in a scoop of your favorite unflavored or vanilla flavored protein powder or collagen protein powder. Peanut butter or almond butter would also be delicious.
  • Use a high powered blender, like a Vitamix or a Ninja to make the creamiest, smoothest smoothies. If you’re using a standard blender, you may need to stop and stir the mixture a few times by hand.
  • Prep Ahead: You can make frozen smoothie packs ahead of time by portioning out the blueberries and strawberries into bags in your freezer. In the morning, just dump the bag into the blender with milk and yogurt.

Storing Tips

Fruit smoothies are meant to be enjoyed right away after blending, but if you’ve made too much, you can store the leftovers in a sealed container for up to 24 hours.

You’ll likely notice that the smoothie separates or changes texture when stored, but you can just shake well or blend again to enjoy!

Blended berry smoothies can also be frozen for up to 3 months. I like to pour the smoothie into ice cube trays. This way, the frozen cubes can be blended with a little extra liquid until they are smooth and icy.

Strawberry and blueberry Smoothie Variations

To change up this berry smoothie, all it takes is to add some other delicious ingredients!

Fruits: Almost any type of fruit can be added to a smoothie. Try this one with chopped mangoes, watermelon chunks, or peaches. You can also find frozen acai, dragon fruit pieces, or dark cherries at most grocery stores.

Greens: Baby spinach is my favorite green to add to fruit smoothies. Keep in mind that adding green to this otherwise pink drink will turn it a brown color, but it will still be delicious!

Healthy Extras: Add a scoop of protein powder, flax seeds or chia seeds to the blender.

What to Serve with Smoothies

A smoothie can be an excellent snack on its own, but it’s even better when you enjoy it as part of a healthy breakfast! Try some of these easy morning meals:

  • Protein-packed Scrambled Eggs with Cottage Cheese
  • Grab-and-go Baked Oatmeal Cups or Mini Quiche
  • Like sweets for breakfast? try my Cranberry Orange Scones, Morning Glory Muffins, or Chocolate Overnight Oats.

Recipe FAQs

Is it better to use fresh or frozen berries for smoothies?

While you can use either, I actually prefer to use frozen fruit when making smoothies. If the fruit is frozen, you won’t need to add any ice to give the drink a slushy texture.

Should I add ice to homemade smoothies?

If you’re using fresh, not frozen fruit, you may want to add up to a cup of ice to the blender to give this smoothie an icier texture.

Do I have to add honey?

Honey is optional in this recipe, and used to ensure that the smoothie is sweet enough. Sweetness is a personal preference, so if your berries are sweet already, you may not need to add it. Instead of honey, you can use agave, maple syrup, or any alternative sweetener.
