If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’d know how obsessed I am with Air Fryer recipes (I just want to Air Fry everything!😁). Ever since I got an Air Fryer, I’ve been using it almost every day and this is the Air Fryer that I currently have and love.

And as so many of you tried my Air Fryer chicken fajitas recipe and left awesome reviews on the site and social media, I decided to share this shrimp version with you all! I love it so much, and I hope that you enjoy it as well. If you give it a try, please leave a review in the comment section below as I would love to hear about your experience.

If you’re looking for a simpler shrimp recipe made in the Air Fryer, check out my Air Fryer Shrimp recipe seasoned with just salt, pepper, and garlic!

Why You Will Love These Air Fryer Fajitas

  1. They’re incredibly easy to make! Prep veggies, toss with seasonings, and air fry!
  2. Air Fry for just 9 minutes. I tested this recipe out so many times, until I found that sweet spot where the peppers are charred but still crunchy, and the shrimp are perfectly cooked!
  3. It’s all about the seasoning! If you still buy store-bought fajita seasoning, seriously, you need to try my homemade fajita seasoning recipe. It’s 1000 times better, cheaper, and healthier!
  4. It’s a healthy meal made with just 5 ingredients.

The Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make Air Fryer shrimp fajitas:

Ingredients needed to make shrimp fajitas
  • Shrimp – use raw thawed shrimp (not cooked!). You can leave the tails on, or discard them (I like to leave them purely for aesthetics).
  • Bell peppers – you can use any color you have, but I like to use a mix to give my fajitas a great color.
  • Onion – yellow or red.
  • Fajita seasoning – I strongly recommend trying my fajita seasoning recipe. I’m 100% sure that you will love it. It’s one of the most popular recipes on my site for a reason!
  • Oil – to help things crisp up.

How to Make Shrimp Fajitas in the Air Fryer

A collage with 6 images on how to make air fryer shrimp fajitas
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°F) for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, season the vegetables. Toss with half of the oil and half of the fajita seasoning. Add the vegetables to the Air Fryer basket and Air fry for 3 minutes.
  • As the vegetables are being air fried, season the shrimp with the rest of the oil and fajita seasoning.
  • When the 3 minutes are up, with a spatula move the vegetables to one side of the air fryer basket, and add the shrimp to the other half.
  • Air fry for 6 minutes at 375°F (190°F) flipping halfway through. Mix everything together and serve.

To sum it up, you will air fry the vegetables for 3 minutes then add the shrimp and cook everything for 6 more minutes. So total will be 9 minutes at 375°F (190°F).

Toppings

My favorite thing about fajitas, tacos, and Mexican food, in general, is the toppings. Below are my favorites:

  • Pico de gallo
  • Lime crema
  • Guacamole
  • Pineapple salsa
  • Chopped fresh cilantro leaves

For a complete Mexican feast, serve these fajitas with my favorite agua frescas, and churro bites for dessert.

And if you love Mexican food, check out my Mexican recipe collection. You will find many things including this cheesy chicken fajita casserole that I really love, simple recipes like this roasted salsa ranchera (SO GOOD!), the best EVER baked chicken fajitas, and even Instant Pot recipes like these Instant Pot chicken fajitas, and Instant Pot pinto beans that I sometimes turn into refried beans.

Can you use basket liners in this recipe? Are they worth it?

You can use parchment paper liners in the air fryer if you like. They aren’t entirely necessary, but they do make cleaning up a bit quicker! Enjoy the shrimp fajitas!
