These Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes are fluffy from the inside, and crispy and golden on the outside. They’re so quick and easy to make, and use a fraction of the oil that you’d normally use!
If you’ve been using an Air Fryer for a while now, then I guess you know what the fuss is all about. Air Fryers have changed the way we cook, and I can’t imagine not having an Air Fryer in my kitchen.
I’ve had Air Fryers for around 3 years now, and just a few months ago I invested in a new Air Fryer (this model) that I’m in love with! It’s seriously amazing that I’ve been using it almost every day.
Whilst Air Fryers are perfect for cooking frozen foods, they’re also great for making things like these roasted potatoes, Air Fryer chicken and potatoes dinner, the juiciest Air Fryer chicken breast, or even Air Fryer chicken fajitas!
So if you already have an Air Fryer, then you NEED to try this amazing recipe! And for more great Air Fryer recipes, check out my Air Fryer recipe collection. If you’re considering investing in an Air Fryer, then here’s the one I use and LOVE.
And if you hate washing the Air Fryer basket, then I recommend that you start using these Air Fryer basket liners. I use them depending on what I’m making, but they’re great as they make the air fryer basket 100% non-stick, and washing up is always a breeze!
The Ingredients
To make Air Fryer roasted potatoes, here’s what you’ll need:
- Potatoes – the best potatoes for roasting are Yukon Golds, red potatoes, and russet potatoes. But honestly, you can use ANY potatoes for roasting.
- Oil – I like to use extra virgin olive oil.
- Seasonings – in this recipe I’m using smoked paprika (I often use it with roasted potatoes), garlic powder/granules, salt, and pepper. However, I like to change things up and sometimes use different seasonings to make different variations of the roasted potatoes – such as Italian seasoning, fajita seasoning, shawarma seasoning, or simply stone house seasoning. Or you can season with just salt and pepper prior to roasting, and then season the roasted potatoes with this french fry seasoning – I always have a large jar of it in my cupboard as it’s honestly the best!!
How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes
To peel or not to peel the potatoes? The choice is yours! I personally like rustic looking potatoes, and I always try to buy organic (when possible) so I usually leave the peel on.
If you’re using baby potatoes, then cut them in half. If they’re tiny, then you can just poke them with a fork to allow the steam to escape. If using larger potatoes, just cut them into 1-inch pieces.
To roast the potatoes:
- In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with extra-virgin olive oil, smoked paprika if using, garlic granules, and season with salt and pepper (or any other seasonings that you’re using). Make sure that the potatoes are well coated in oil and seasonings.
- Place in the Air Fryer basket, and roast at 380°F (195°C) for 10 minutes. Flip the potatoes, and roast for 10 more minutes. The potatoes should be fork-tender and crispy on the outside.
- Serve warm!
Top Tips
- You don’t have to preheat the Air Fryer, but if you have time, then preheating it for 5 minutes will result in crispier potatoes.
- If you’re using starchy potatoes, then it helps to soak them in cold water for 10-15 minutes prior to roasting them to get rid of the extra starch. Make sure to pat dry the potatoes, as otherwise, they will steam rather than roast.
- Use tongs or turner to flip the potatoes halfway through, shaking the basket might break some of the potatoes and won’t flip them all.
- Serve hot as a side or appetizer. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or cilantro, and make a tasty homemade dip such as ranch dressing, Yum yum sauce, lime crema, or even guacamole!
