You’re going to love this quick and easy oven baked pork chops recipe! Ritz crackers make the best substitution for bread crumbs and give the pork a crispy, buttery breading that will make everyone ask for second helpings.

This simple dinner recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights when you need a filling and hearty meal ready fast. Serve Ritz cracker pork chops with creamy mashed potatoes and glazed carrots to create a memorable and tasty homestyle meal.

Are you looking for a baked boneless pork chops recipe that isn’t breaded? Try my brined and baked pork chops instead!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

The best part about this recipe is the Ritz crackers. They are the star of the show, creating a buttery and crisp breading that makes baked pork chops taste like fried ones.

You’ll love the simplicity of this pork chop recipe too. Once you’ve breaded the pork, pop it in the oven for about a half hour to bake. When the timer goes off you’ll have perfectly juicy, perfectly crispy pork chops ready for dinner.

Looking for other “oven fried” recipes? Try my crispy oven baked chicken tenders or oven baked french fries too.

Key Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make this crispy pork chop dinner:

a plate of raw boneless pork chops next to small bowls holding the ingredients needed to make a ritz cracker breading.
  • Pork Chops: Look for thick-cut, boneless pork chops. Thinner chops will become overcooked using this method, but thicker ones will be perfectly juicy and delicious.
  • Ritz Crackers: These buttery, crispy, salty crackers make the most wonderful crust for pork chops. Since crackers are already fried and crisp, they work really well for baked recipes like this one. Crush the crackers well, but not so well that they’re powdered. A few larger pieces are fine.
  • Eggs: Beaten egg will help the crackers and seasonings to stick to the pork chops.
  • Butter: To make this cracker breading even better, pats of butter will be added to each chop. The butter will melt in the oven and make the cracker crumbs even crispier!
  • Seasonings: The seasonings I chose for this recipe are simple and delicious: paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

How To Make Ritz Cracker Baked Pork Chops

  1. Season the Pork: While your oven is preheating to 375°F (190°C), season the pork chops evenly on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a Breading Station: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs until well-mixed. In another bowl, combine the crushed crackers, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  3. Coat the Chops: To bread the chops, one at a time, dip each pork chop in the egg mixture, letting any extra drip off. Then coat each chop in the Ritz cracker mixture, pressing the crumbs in with your fingers so that each side is well coated.
  1. Bake: Place the cracker breaded pork chops in a baking dish that you’ve sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle with the remaining cracker crumbs, and top each chop with a slice of butter. Bake for 30 minutes, or until fully cooked to 155°F (68°C).

Tip!

The exact cooking time for pork chops in the oven will vary based on the size and thickness of the pork. Use a thermometer to ensure that the meat is cooked to an internal temperature of 155°F (68°C).

Recipe Tips

  • Use thick pork chops: While you can technically make this dish with regular cut chops, I find that thicker pork chops cook up juicier using this method.
  • Use your favorite seasonings: If there’s a particular herb or spice that you like on pork chops, use it!
  • Try it with chicken! This breading works wonderfully with chicken breasts, thighs, or tenderloins. Adjust the cooking time as necessary.
  • To make the breading even crispier, try baking the chops on a wire rack. This way, the oil and moisture will drip away and the bottom of the chops will be crisp as well as the tops.

Storing Tips

Once cooled, store leftover baked boneless pork chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Rehat in the oven or microwave.

What To Serve With Baked Pork Chops

Since we’re seasoning these crispy pork chops with basic herbs and spices, they will go well with any of your favorite side dishes.

If mashed potatoes and veggies seem too ordinary, try some unique side dishes, like my roasted broccoli with vinaigrette, pesto potato salad, or creamy mushroom and spinach orzo.

For dessert, I think your crew will love my no bake Twinkie cake, or easy Coca Cola cake.

Recipe FAQs

How do you crush crackers for breading?

I think that the easiest way to crush Ritz crackers is to place them in a zip-top bag and then crush them with a heavy object or my hands. They will crumble easily.

Can I cook other meats breaded with Ritz Crackers?

This pork chop breading method works wonderfully with chicken breasts, boneless thighs, or tenderloins. Adjust the bake time as needed.

What sauce goes well with breaded pork chops?

Add your favorite gravy to these baked pork chops! It will be especially tasty if you’re also making mashed potatoes.

Can I double the recipe?

Of course! Just be sure that you have a large enough baking pan to fit the pork chops without overlapping them at all. Try making this a sheet pan meal.

Will this work with bone-in pork chops?

Yes, but bone-in chops will take longer to cook. I would suggest adding approximately 10 minutes to the time in the recipe, adjusting as needed until the pork is fully cooked.

pk chips very juicy and flavorful
I don’t really care for pork chops because they are flavorless to me. This time I found a recipe that adds great flavor and keeps them juicy as they cook. Yum!
