Ingredients In Pizza Sliders
Just six ingredients are needed to make these delicious sandwiches!
Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.
- Hawaiian Rolls: I like the classic sweet Hawaiian rolls in this recipe, but you can try the other varieties of slider-sized rolls too.
- Mozzarella Cheese: Low-moisture shredded mozzarella works best here.
- Pizza Sauce: Use your favorite prepared pizza sauce!
- Pepperoni: A handful of sliced pepperoni finishes off the pizza filling for these sliders.
- Melted butter and Italian Seasoning: To give the sliders a brown, buttery finish and a pizza crust flavor.
How To Make Pizza Sliders
- Get Ready: Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C, and grease a 9×9 or 7×11 inch baking pan/sheet (if you don’t have either, then use 9×13).
- Assemble the Sliders: Slice the rolls in half using a serrated knife to separate the tops from the bottoms. Add the bottom of the rolls to the pan, then layer half of the cheese, all of the pizza sauce, and all of the pepperoni on the bottom of the rolls. Finish with the the remaining cheese, then the tops of the rolls.
- Brush on Butter: Mix melted butter with Italian seasoning, and then brush the herb mixture over the tops of the sandwiches.
- Bake: Cover the pan with foil and bake the sliders for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for 10 more minutes or until golden brown.
Tip!
Keep an eye on the sliders so they don’t burn! Remove from the oven when they are golden brown.
Recipe Tips
- Adjust Ingredients. Leave out the pepperoni if you’d like, or add other cooked pizza toppings like mushrooms, sausage, or sauteed onions.
- If you can’t find Hawaiian rolls, you can use dinner rolls instead. Look for the type of rolls that are already cooked and still stuck together.
- Dip them! Serve these pizza sliders with a side of Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing for dipping.
Storing Tips
These sliders are best enjoyed right after baking them, but leftovers can be saved in the fridge for 2-3 days if needed. Reheat them in the oven or air fryer just until warm.
How to Serve Pizza Sliders
Make sliders for kids. Little hands love these tiny sandwiches! Make these for lunch or dinner, or serve them at a kids’ birthday party as an easy and inexpensive meal. For a lighter option, make a tray of cucumber sandwiches as well. Don’t forget to serve cupcakes too!
As party food. Sliders are the perfect finger food for football parties or holiday gatherings. Put them out on the table along with Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip and Honey Mustard Pretzels.
Have sliders for dinner. Dinner is so fast and easy when pizza sliders are the main event! Make a quick Caesar salad or a Wedge Salad to go with them.
FAQs
Shredded mozzarella cheese that is labeled as low-moisture is the best choice for making these sliders.
It’s best to assemble these sandwiches just before you bake them. Since none of the ingredients need to be cooked, I wouldn’t suggest making these ahead of time.
As long as you use small or normal-sized sliced pepperoni, you shouldn’t need to slice these pizza sliders. They will pull apart beautifully!
