Million Dollar Dip is a savory dip packed with bacon, cheese, and almonds. It’s a huge crowd-pleaser for all occasions! Also known as Neiman Marcus Dip, it is a classic appetizer that is easy to make ahead of time.

Why you’ll love this recipe
I used to think party dips had to be baked or layered to be good, but this one proved me wrong. Million Dollar Dip is creamy, crunchy, salty, and honestly addictive – and you don’t even need to turn on the oven. I like that it takes five minutes to make and tastes even better after chilling for a bit. If you’re bringing it to a get-together, go ahead and double the recipe. It disappears fast.
And if you end up with extra crackers, we use them the next night for Ritz Cracker Pork Chops. Always a hit.

Ingredient Notes
Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

- Mayonnaise: Use full-fat mayo for the best creamy texture. Low-fat versions can make the dip too thin.
- Sour Cream: Adds a little tang and keeps the dip light. Greek yogurt works too if that’s what you have.
- Cheddar Cheese: Sharp cheddar has the most flavor. Shred it yourself for a better texture.
- Green Onions: Gives the dip a fresh bite. Slice them thin so they mix in well.
- Bacon: Cook until crispy and chop small. Store-bought bacon bits work if you’re short on time, but real bacon is better.
- Slivered Almonds: Lightly toast for more crunch and flavor. You can also use chopped pecans or leave them out if needed.

Recipe Tips
- Try toasting the almonds. It’s not entirely necessary, but for some extra flavor, toast the nuts in a dry skillet for a few minutes. Let them cool before adding them to the dip.
- Shred your own cheese. Pre-shredded cheddar cheese has starches added to keep it from clumping together. This can take away from the flavor and texture of the cheese. Plus, it’s less expensive to buy cheese in a block and grate it yourself!
- Add some spice! A pinch of cayenne pepper will add a delicious kick of flavor.
- Taste the dip before you add any salt! Bacon and cheddar are already salty, and so are the crackers or chips that you’ll be dipping with, so you may not need any.
- Make it pretty. Set aside some bacon, cheese, and green onions so that you can sprinkle them on top of your million dollar dip before serving it.

What To Serve With Million Dollar Dip
You have to have good dippers! I love this with salty, buttery Ritz crackers, but you can also try tortilla chips, pita chips, or bagel chips.
For a lighter option, serve million dollar dip with fresh veggies like carrot sticks, sliced bell peppers, cucumbers, or celery sticks.
Why is it called million dollar dip?
This recipe was said to have been created by Helen Corbitt and served at the Zodiac Room (a restaurant inside of a Dallas Texas Neiman Marcus store) in the 1950’s. It was first called simply “Neiman Marcus Dip”, but the name has changed. Maybe because the Zodiac Room was such an upscale place to eat, or maybe because the rich ingredients in this recipe make it taste like a million bucks!
A fun fact: Helen Corbitt is the same woman who is credited for creating Texas Caviar dip too!
Million Dollar Dip is the perfect easy dip recipe for all of your entertaining needs! Be sure to save this recipe for later by Pinning it or sharing it.
