Salty, sweet, creamy, and crunchy peanut butter pretzel bites are so easy to make, and a perfect treat for snacking. Make these tasty treats to enjoy on any day, as an after-school snack, or serve them when you’re having people over!
I love making these delicious pretzel bites, they’re stuffed with sweetened peanut butter and dipped in dark chocolate. I also like to finish them off with a sprinkle of sea salt, but if you want to add some color, go for colorful sprinkles instead!
We make these treats to enjoy throughout the week, but I recently made them for a movie night and the kids loved them! I served them along with my movie theatre muddy buddies, and a large bowl of kettle corn.

Ingredients Needed
Here’s what you need to make peanut butter pretzel bites:
Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.
- Chocolate: You can melt a chocolate bar or chocolate chips, and dip each pretzel bite halfway or cover it fully. I went with Ghirardelli melting wafers because they melt easily, set quickly and smooth, and taste good too.
- Pretzels: Any mini pretzels work here. I went for square snaps, but you can do mini twist pretzels if you like.
- Peanut Butter: Smooth peanut butter works best here, and that’s what I usually use. If you want to add some crunch, you can use crunchy peanut butter.
- Powdered sugar, softened salted butter, and pure vanilla extract.
How To Make Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with peanut butter and beat together using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Then gradually add sifted powdered sugar, and slowly mix that in to avoid a sugar storm. Keep adding powdered sugar and beat until you get a mixture that sticks together but it’s not too sticky. If it’s still sticky, add an additional half a cup of sugar and beat again.
- Cover with plastic wrap, and chill the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Line 2 half sheet size cookie sheets with parchment paper (we won’t be baking these!), and lay 100 pretzels over them.
- Remove the peanut butter mixture from the fridge and using a medium cookie scoop, portion out the mixture then divide each into 4 portions. Roll each between your hands to make small balls, and top each pretzel with a ball of peanut butter. Cover with another pretzel and gently press with your finger to secure. Repeat with the remaining pretzels to make peanut butter pretzel sandwiches.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate for 1 minute, stir, then microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each one until smooth.
- Dip the pretzel bites halfway in the chocolate and place them back on the parchment paper to set.
Tip!
Sprinkle each peanut butter pretzel bite with sea salt or sprinkles if desired, but make sure to do that before the chocolate sets otherwise they won’t stick.
Recipe Tips
- Peanut Butter: I tested this recipe using JIF all-natural peanut butter, but keep in mind that peanut butter brands are a little different so you might need more or less powdered sugar to make the mixture. It should feel like a soft fudge.
- You can easily halve or even quarter the recipe. I like to make a large batch and these never last in my house.
- Easy Clean-Up. Make sure to line your cookie sheets with parchment paper, these will make cleaning up a breeze!
Storing Tips
Store the peanut butter pretzel bites in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
