Easy 15-minute one-pot pasta made with very basic ingredients! This pasta recipe is perfect for busy people, or those of you who don’t like spending too much time in the kitchen, and the lazy cooks! It’s simple, frugal and delicious!

Easy One Pot Pasta

One-Pot Pasta

As a chef and a food blogger, I cook almost every day with no breaks! I love cooking, but one thing that I really hate? Washing up!

This one–pot pasta is one of my go-to dishes that I make on really busy days, when I’m working all day in the office and don’t feel like spending too much time in the kitchen. The whole thing comes together in just 15 minutes, and then there isn’t much washing up to do! Double win!

How do you cook the pasta and the sauce together in one pot?

This is sooo easy! All you have to do is chop up the veggies, throw that in the pot along with the pasta, vegetable stock, and seasonings and cook for 10 minutes! Sounds easy, right? Let’s jump into the recipe!

Tomato One Pot Pasta

The ingredients

You will need long pasta (spaghetti, linguine, tagliatelle)

  • Pasta (any shape!)
  • Yellow onion, garlic, and chili (optional).
  • Tomato, tomato paste.
  • Bay leaf, dried basil
  • Olive oil, vegetable stock, salt, and pepper

And a wide pot or pan! I use my dutch oven.

One Pot Pasta ingredients

How to make one-pot pasta

  • Start by dicing an onion and slicing 2 garlic cloves. Dice the tomato and finely chop a chili if using.
  • In a wide pot or pan, place all of the ingredients and turn on the heat. You have to make sure that the pasta is fully covered with the liquid.
  • Cover with the lid, and let it cook for 8 minutes. Stir the pasta every 2 minutes. Then cook uncovered until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened. You might need to add a little bit of more stock or hot water if the sauce is too thick.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or basil leaves, and more salt and pepper if desired.

Easy Family Meal

This pasta makes a wonderful weeknight family dinner. The adults and the kids will love it, and once you make it, you will want to keep making it over and over again.

If you’re cooking for children, just skip adding the red chili.

One Pot Pasta

Another great family-friendly vegan pasta dish is this creamy tomato pasta, it’s so easy to make and everyone in my family loves it!
