Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is like the Superbowl of the home cooking year. Use my recipes to make your game plan and create a fail-proof Thanksgiving feast!

First, learn to make a whole Roast Turkey, or a Turkey Breast in the Instant Pot. Consider making a Smoked Turkey or a gorgeous Grilled Turkey.

Follow that up with simple sides like a Classic Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, Buttery Herb Stuffing and the best ever Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots.

Top everything off with my Homemade Cranberry Sauce and you will have a winning spread. But don't forget about dessert! A pie is a must on your table! Make Classic Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, or all three!

Thanksgiving Planning Tips

  • Make a Menu Early
List out all the dishes you’d like to serve, including appetizers, sides, the main course, and desserts. This will help you spot ingredients you might need in bulk and plan for dietary needs.
  • Delegate Dishes
Don’t take on everything yourself! Assign a few dishes to family or friends who’d like to help. Many side dishes, appetizers, or desserts can easily be made by others.
  • Create a Shopping List
After finalizing your menu, make a detailed shopping list. Buy non-perishables early, and save fresh items like vegetables for a few days before Thanksgiving to ensure they're at their best.
  • Prepare in Advance
Many dishes can be prepped ahead of time. Make sauces, bake pies, chop veggies, and brine your turkey the day before, so you’re not rushing on Thanksgiving day.
  • Set the Table the Night Before
Lay out your table settings, arrange serving dishes, and get everything organized the evening before. This way, you can focus on cooking and enjoy the day more.
