Creamy Balsamic Dressing

Creamy Balsamic Dressing is an easy homemade salad dressing that's tastier and healthier than any bottled dressing you'll find! It's got the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors to go with your favorite salads, and it's ready in just a few minutes.

Equipment

  • mason jar or other sealed container

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • cup Greek yogurt see note 1
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey see note 2
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • To a jar, add balsamic vinegar, olive oil, yogurt, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Seal and shake until well combined.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. If it separates, seal the jar and shake or whisk the dressing until smooth.

Notes

  1. Greek yogurt can be replaced with non-dairy yogurt to make a vegan dressing. You can also use mayo or vegan mayo in place of yogurt if you'd like. 
  2. Switch out the honey for agave nectar or maple syrup for a vegan option, or use your favorite sweetener. 
  3. Other fresh or dried herbs can be added to this recipe. Try a half teaspoon of Italian Seasoning
  4. The dressing will stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. 
  5. If you don't have a mason jar, mix up the ingredients in a bowl using a whisk instead. 
  6. This recipe makes about ¾ cups of balsamic dressing. That's 6 two-tablespoon servings, or enough to coat a family-sized salad. 
  7. If you find that your dressing is too thick, simply add a splash of water to thin it out. If you want it to be thicker, add more yogurt.
