Cranberry Orange  Scones

These scones are perfect for impromptu brunches or an anytime sweet snack.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sour cream, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla until smooth.

Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until only pea sized piece remain.

Stir in the cream mixture until the dough starts to stick together but there are still some dry streaks.

Add the cranberries, and mix until the dough comes together.

Transfer to a lightly floured surface and pat into a 8” round disc. Slice the dough into 8 wedges.

Transfer the wedges to the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones have risen and are lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.

Whisk together the powdered sugar and orange juice to create a glaze.

Then drizzle the glaze on top of the cooled scones.
