Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick/225g) salted butter softened
  • 4 cloves garlic minced – about 1 tablespoon
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 14 ounce French baguette

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C, and line a half sheet size baking sheet with foil for easy clean up.
  • In a small bowl, combine the butter with garlic, black pepper, and parsley. Stir until well combined. I do this using a fork.
  • Slice the baguette lengthwise with a serrated/bread knife, and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
  • Spread butter mixture over the baguette with a spatula.
  • Place the bread in the center of the oven, and bake for 8 minutes.
  • Move to bread under the broiler, and broil (about 5 inches/12cm from the broiler) for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cut into slices and serve warm.
