Ingredients

  • 4 cups ice cream vanilla or cookie ice cream
  • cup milk whole or 2%
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Red frosting for the rim
  • Holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  • To the jug of a blender, add ice cream, milk, and green food coloring. Blend on low speed until smooth and creamy. If needed, adjust the consistency by adding more milk to the milkshake.
  • To rim the glasses, spread a small quantity of red or green icing to the edge of the rim and immediately decorate with holiday sprinkles.
  • Pour the milkshake into the rimmed glasses, then garnish with fresh whipped cream and decorate with more sprinkles.

Notes

  • Allow the ice cream to sit on your counter for 5 minutes before scooping it into the blender. This will soften the ice cream and make it more scoopable.
  • When buying ice cream, make sure that it's 100% made of dairy. There are many frozen treats that are made with vegetable oils and you want to avoid them.
  • Place your glasses in the freezer 15 minutes before making the milkshakes, this will help the milkshakes stay cold for longer.
  • Do not add ice cubes to your milkshake, they will melt and your milkshake will become too watery.
