Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice cubes plus more ice for serving
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 6 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 2 ounces sweetened lime juice
  • fresh lime or apple slices to garnish

For rimming the glasses:

Instructions

  • Add 1 cup of ice cubes to a large cocktail shaker.
  • Add apple cider, tequila, orange juice, and lime juice.
  • Place the top on the shaker, and hold it on tightly. Shake vigorously for a count of 10.
  • Before pouring the margaritas, add a cinnamon sugar rim to the glasses! Mix the sugar and cinnamon together on a small plate. Use your finger to wet the rims of 3 margarita glasses with sweetened lime juice, then dip the glasses into the cinnamon sugar to coat.
  • Remove the top from the shaker, and pour the margaritas into 3 glasses. Add ice if desired, and garnish with fresh fruit.

Notes

  • Sweetened lime juice can be found at liquor stores or in the "mixers" section of the grocery store.
  • Use large ice cubes in your shaker so that the margarita doesn't get watered down.
  • Feel free to serve your margaritas in tall glasses with ice rather than footed margarita glasses if you prefer.
