Ingredients

  • 250 grams chickpeas soaked for at least 8 hours
  • 50 grams parsley chopped
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose or chickpea flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • In a jug of a food processer, combine chickpeas with parsley, onion, garlic, flour, baking powder, lemon juice, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Blend until you get a coarse mixture.
  • The mixture will be sticky (add a little bit of flour if needed), divide into 4 patties, and shape them with your hands.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until browned.
  • Remove from the skillet onto a plate lined with paper towels. Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings.
