Total Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups Chex cereal rice, wheat, or corn
  • 3 cups mini pretzels
  • 2 cups Cheese crackers I used Cheezit
  • 1 cup Goldfish crackers
  • 1 cup roasted lightly salted peanuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F/150°C, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • To a large bowl, add melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Whisk to combine.
  • Add Chex cereal, mini pretzels, cheese crackers, and peanuts. Stir with a spatula until everything is well coated.
  • Transfer to the prepared pan, spread with a spatula and bake for 15-20 minutes flipping halfway through.
  • Allow to cool to room temperature then serve, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • How to Cool: You can let the chex mix cool on the sheet pan, or you can carefully transfer it to a new pan lined with paper towels. This will help it cool down more quickly.
  • How to Store: Once it's cooled, keep homemade Chex Mix in a ziplock bag or sealed container at room temperature. It should stay fresh for up to a week.
  • Seasoning Adjustments: Instead of Italian seasoning, try any salt-free seasoning blend that you enjoy! You can also add salt, but keep in mind that the ingredients we're adding in are already pretty salty.
  • Ingredient Adjustments: This recipe calls for 9 cups of mix-ins. You can use more or less of any of them, or add in different items, just be sure that the total volume is still 9 cups.
  • Make More or Less: Feel free to scale this recipe down to make a small batch, or up to feed a crowd. If you're making more chex mix, you may want to bake it in a large roasting pan, and add additional baking time, still stirring every 10 minutes or so.
  • Microwave Instructions: Place seasoned mix in a large microwave-safe (glass is ideal) bowl. Microwave, uncovered, for 5 to 6 minutes, stopping every two minutes to stir. Spread out on paper towels to cool before storing.
