Ingredients

  • 2 cups (300g) raw unroasted almonds
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C
  • Place the almonds in a single layer on a sheet pan, and roast for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, and add to the bowl of a food processor or a high power blender.
  • Blend for 4-5 minutes or until liquefied, smooth and creamy.

Notes

Storing. Your freshly ground almond butter will stay fresh in the refrigerator in a sealed jar for up to 2 weeks. It may even stay fresh longer than that, if it lasts that long. You’ll notice signs of spoilage (a bad smell) if it’s gone bad. You’ll need to stir the almond butter before using it as the oil will separate from the solids as it sits.
