Seriously fancy cardamom cold brew coffee, but it’s homemade!
Have you ever tried cold brew coffee? It’s becoming very popular in the UK, and it’s now served at many cafes around the country. Getting a cold brew coffee at a cafe every time can be pretty expensive, so why not try and make it at home? It’s much easier than you imagine! Plus you can be creative, and add your own twist on the cold brew coffee.
The reason why I like cold brew coffee is because it’s less acidic, so it’s never bitter. It’s also smooth, and aromatic! It can be sweetened with sugar, stevia, or honey. And can be served with milk, creamers and different kinds of syrups (caramel or brownie syrup anyone?!).
I’ve been making coffee and tea with filtered water. When I use my water filter jug, the water is fresher, clearer, and it tastes great! So if you’re picky like me and really care about the taste of your water, you need to get yourself one of these filter jugs. They’re pretty cheap and easy to use too. I also find them handy to keep in the living or bed room as it means that I won’t have to run to the kitchen next time I want a glass of water!

- Ground coffee
- Cardamom pods
- Sweetener optional
- Ice optional
- In an air tight container add ground coffee, cardamom pods, and water using a 2:10 ratio (200g of coffee for 1 litre of filtered water)
- Stir the mixture 10 times and after about 2 minutes all the coffee should float on the top.
- Stir for another minute and seal the container. Leave it in the fridge for 16 hours.
- Filter the cold brew coffee twice using a cafetiere, add sweetener of your choice, and serve with ice if desired.
